Ohio tax commissioner calls for municipal tax reform - Jan. 26
Tax Commissioner Joe Testa told a packed Ohio Tax Conference Tuesday his office is focused on simplifying revenue collection at the state and local levels. His goal is to make taxation more business friendly and less burdensome to state and municipal governments. He is calling for more action from the Kasich administration in achieving those goals.
JobsOhio engine heats up - Jan. 26
Gov. John Kasich’s privatized development agency might soon have the funding it needs to become Ohio’s economic engine. Earlier this week, JobsOhio proposed paying the state $1.4 billion for the rights to Ohio’s liquor profits for the next 25 years. JobsOhio will sell long-term bonds backed by future liquor profits to pay the $1.4 billion.
